We are pleased to announce that a new article entitled ‘Symptom burden, health status, and productivity in patients with uncontrolled and controlled severe asthma in NOVELTY’ has been published in the Journal of Asthma and Allergy.

This article reports symptom burden, health status, and productivity in patients with uncontrolled and controlled severe asthma from NOVELTY, which provides a novel real-world setting in which to evaluate the impact of uncontrolled severe asthma.

Results from the analysis showed that almost two-thirds of patients with severe asthma in NOVELTY had uncontrolled disease. Patients with uncontrolled severe asthma had a higher symptom burden, worse health status and lower productivity compared with patients with controlled severe asthma.

The findings support recommendations for interventions to improve control of severe asthma, reducing the symptom burden and the substantial effect on health status and productivity of patients.
